Affinity: digestive system, respiratory system

Herbal Action: antitussive, carminative, galactagogue, harmonizer

Indications:

  • Supportive for those experiencing COPD, asthma and coughing due to illness or allergies

  • Enhances digestion and reduces gas, bloating, cramping and nausea (including from hangover)

  • Carminative properties also pass through breastmilk to soothe colicky babies

Preferred Preparations: glycerite, infusion, syrup

Taste: strong licorice taste

Contraindications: avoid use if taking diuretic or blood pressure lowering medications. Avoid use if experiencing edema or sodium related hypertension. Limited use during pregnancy is advised.
