Affinity: reproductive system, smooth musculature

Herbal Action: analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, emmenagogue, nervine, pelvic decongestant, uterine tonic

Indications:

  • Regulates menstrual cycle and can help reduce symptoms of PMS and menopause

  • Reduces dull, throbbing pain associated with menstrual cramps, rheumatic pain, fibromyalgia and prostatic or testicular cramping

Preferred Preparations: tincture

Taste: earthy, slightly mushroomy

Contraindications: avoid use during pregnancy, breastfeeding and in conjunction with blood thinners and blood pressure lowering medications. Large doses can cause headache, nausea and dizziness.
