Herbal Action: alterative, anti fungal, antimicrobial, anti rheumatic, astringent, bitter, diuretic

Indications:

  • A potent urinary tract antiseptic that needs to be formulated with more demulcent and diuretic herbs to treat UTIs, inflammation in the urinary system, or to flush out kidney and bladder stones

  • Topically used for skin infections, wounds and rheumatic pain

Preferred Preparations: food, oil/salve, steam, tea, tincture

Taste: fruity citrus with a piney spiciness

Contraindications: not for use during pregnancy, menstruation, or with kidney disease. Large doses can irritate urinary system and cause gastric upset.
