Herbal Action: anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, bitter tonic, expectorant, stomachic
Indications:
Can be used longterm to reduce pain, inflammation and spasms in the reproductive and digestive tracts, including from uterine or ovarian cysts, endometriosis, hiatal hernias, food poisoning, Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, IBS
Topically anti-inflammatory to the muscles, joints, dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis
Preferred Preparations: decoction, tincture
Taste: soapy and bitter
Contraindications: not for use with a blocked bile duct. Short term use is recommended for those with compromised kidney function (less than one month).
