Herbal Action: adaptogen, anti-inflammatory, demulcent, diuretic, heart tonic, immune modulator

Indications:

  • Moistens mucous membranes in the respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems

  • Known in Ayurveda as “she who has a hundred husbands” and is used as a female reproductive tonic to ease symptoms associated with menopause, menstrual irregularities and to increase fertility

  • Longterm use increases resiliency to stress & uplifts mood

Preferred Preparations: decoction, tincture

Taste: sweet and earthy

Contraindications: not for use with acute digestive infections or when experiencing excessive mucus
